Can an uneven joint on my walkway be fixed without replacing the whole path?
Usually yes. Where one section has settled relative to its neighbour, that section can be cut out and re-poured on a corrected base, leaving the rest alone. What matters is finding out why it settled, because otherwise the new section will do the same thing.
What is the lowest-maintenance option for a backyard surface?
A poured concrete slab, in practical terms. There are no individual units to shift or re-level and no joints for weeds to come up through. Plain finishes need essentially nothing; decorative finishes need periodic resealing, which we will explain up front so it is not a surprise.
Will my HOA need to approve concrete work?
Quite possibly, if the work is visible from the street — driveway widening and decorative finishes are the usual triggers. Rules vary between communities, so check with your association. We are happy to supply the project details you need for the submission.
